Robert enjoys building relationships with his clients and serving as a source of knowledge during difficult and complicated times. Always willing and able to clearly and concisely explain these issues to his clients, Robert’s clients consistently report being well informed about the legal and procedural issues affecting their case.
Robert is passionate about counseling and advocating for his clients who find themselves in highly complex or contested family law situations. Whether the situation involves complicated property issues or unique child custody situations, Robert prioritizes making sure that his clients have a good understanding of where they stand in the law, which in turn helps them make the best decisions for themselves and their family.
While Robert will zealously advocate for his clients who find themselves involved in contested family law cases, including issues related to relationship dissolutions, custody, or child support issues; he also recognizes and understands that many times an amicable resolution to a contested family law issue would better serve his clients. Robert prides himself on recognizing that in these cases, facilitating an agreement is in his client’s - and his clients’ families’- best interest.
In addition to his legal advocacy, Robert has served as President of the Austin LGBT Bar Association and on the Board of AGLIFF.
Robert was born and raised in Laredo, Texas, but has lived in Austin since 2003. Robert obtained his B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin, and his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. In his spare time, Robert enjoys visiting his family, training his German Shepherd, reconnecting with his border town roots, and volunteering for various local organizations.
